1. Roomba Q5 pro
The Q5 Pro, and its more expensive cousin, the Q7 Max Series are among the most powerful robotic vacuums we've tested. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can produce up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans and avoid household obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also come with a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet, allowing it cleaned up quickly.
Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the Q5's shortcomings is that its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people well during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and operates while you are at work or in school. The only thing it lacks that you won't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does come with a self-emptying dock, though. And, if you need to change the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. iRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a sleek, compact package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles, like pet hair. It also has an impressive suction system and a self-emptying bin. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.
This high-performance vacuum and mop utilizes sensor technology that can keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the layout of your home over time and ensure cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.
When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This helps prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It did a good cleaning job on a variety of floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-notch and it swiftly eluded fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.
It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically empties into its base, and also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it vacuums. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models This mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that has an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors, which include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mops.
The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that the X40 still a loud unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you're trying to sleep.
It's also a bit expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing some more volume and some additional cost it's a powerful two-in-one that will satisfy most people.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a number of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.
The smart robot uses LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a camera mounted on the front to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.
The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also comes with an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the house depending on how dirty the areas are.
For larger houses it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or voice commands. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. Also a recharge and resume function that allows your robot vacuum to continue where it left off is great for busy families.
iRobot RX3
The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd think from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses with one pad that has an oscillating motion that does a better job cleaning than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tried. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The well-designed iRobot application guides you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. secret info can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for greater efficiency. The app also provides access to a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.
It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as clever combs for removing pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that will thoroughly clean an area.
The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD offers a sleeker, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It's got a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes.
